Debbie welcome. Tell us all about your cookbook Sweet Debbie’s Organic Treats.
My cookbook contains baked goods recipes from my allergy-free, gluten-free, vegan & sugar-free bakery Sweet Debbie’s Organic Cupcakes, plus 3 new categories including energy bars, donut holes and breads. 




Debbie how long have you been baking/cooking organic, vegan and allergy free?
I started baking organic and sugar-free in 2006, but in 2009 when my son was diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies to dairy, egg, nuts, tree nuts and sesame seeds I revamped my bakery to make it completely free of the top 8 allergens.

Debbie what led to your publishing a cookbook?
I wanted to make my recipes accessible to people who couldn’t, for one reason or another, buy my baked goods. 


What are the biggest benefits to eating organic, vegan and allergy free?
The biggest benefits are a happier household because you feel better without all the bad stuff that weighs you down. No one ever says they miss the cholesterol.

Debbie tell us about your bakery.
My bakery is actually a commercial kitchen where all the baked goods are made and shipped out or delivered. We can send our goods to any city in the United States. 


What are the biggest difficulties baking organic, vegan and allergy free?
I don’t find it difficult at all. Once I figured out the recipes and substitutions it became easy as pie.

What is the biggest myth about cooking/eating organic, vegan, and allergy free?
The biggest myth is that it will taste like cardboard. IT DOES NOT. It is rich and delicious. I wouldn’t be in business for 7 years if it didn’t.
